Can you say a few words about yourself?

I was born in Sweden however grew up in Switzerland. I studied at the Swiss Hospitality Management School in Lausanne (EHL) and then worked for several years at a hotel in Geneva, for the event department. Later on, I got married and when our first born arrived, I wanted to become a “stay at home” mom to raise my children. When they started school, I decided to return to the workforce and found a job for a small family company, importing food products. After 12 years with them, I felt the need for a new challenge. I decided to apply for an administrative assistant position at the EPFL for the Environmental Engineering Institute Department. I joined LAPI in the spring of 2019 and am very happy in assisting the researchers and PhD students with their administrative tasks. I take great pride and pleasure in helping my colleagues with the admin part; this way, they are able to dedicate all their energy for their research, leaving me with a sense of accomplishment as I feel, I am making a small contribution to protect the environment. Because of the EPFL, I feel very lucky as I am interacting every day with people from different cultures. Working on this campus with coworkers from all over the world is absolutely fascinating.

What do you enjoy to do during your free time?

I love to spend time with my family and friends, sitting around a table discussing world event or just relaxing around a great meal. In the summer, I enjoy spending time on the lake to do some boating and my winters are for sure spent on skis.

Where is the most interesting place you’ve been?

Iceland, the landscape is so beautiful, seems like planet earth was created right there!

A free thought for the end?

Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened…
