Communication materials

This page contains useful links for creating communication-related materials for your event or promotional campaign such as goodies and posters.

Our Graphic Generator application can help you develop posters, banners and other marketing materials that are consistent with EPFL’s brand guidelines.

All posters must be approved by Mediacom Events before they can be printed, displayed or distributed. You can attach your poster designs to your event request form, or send them by email to [email protected].

Our Graphic Generator application can help you develop posters, banners and other marketing materials that are consistent with EPFL’s brand guidelines.

See EPFL’s policies on using the EPFL logo and advertising on campus.

Please comply with the following guidelines to ensure that posters are displayed in an orderly manner:

  • Use A3 size paper or smaller

  • Hang your posters with masking tape

  • Don’t cover up other posters or go outside the allotted space

  • Hang only one poster in each allotted space

  • Take down your posters after the event is over

Event ads can be displayed in EPFL hallways free of charge.

You can purchase EPFL gifts, goodies and T-shirts at the EPFL Shop or directly in La Boutique. You can also have communication-related materials created specifically for your event, provided you follow Mediacom’s visual communication guidelines.

EPFL’s visual communications website contains a page listing the resources available for student associations, including tips on how to use the new “Recognized Association” label instead of the EPFL logo.

Note: The logos of alcoholic beverage companies cannot be displayed on your posters or other marketing materials, and tobacco companies cannot be used as event sponsors.

Anyone in the EPFL community can contribute content to Dimensions.

Various kinds of exhibition materials can be borrowed for events, including:

  • an EPFL image wall, which can also be used as a background for speakers
  • customizable “Type 1” and “Type 2” EPFL booths for events held on campus and elsewhere
  • EPFL retractable banners, for events held on campus and elsewhere

Memento is EPFL’s online calendar listing all our School’s main events. It’s visible to people both inside and outside EPFL. Anyone in the EPFL community can post an event on Memento – that ensures all events get good visibility.

Tips for using Memento
  • Events posted on Memento also appear on the EPFL Campus app. Mediacom Events may choose to promote a specific event further by displaying it on the Events page of the EPFL website.
  • Students can sign up to Memento groups for specific associations and receive weekly emails.

The Coming Soon to EPFL newsletter is sent out on the first Wednesday of every month.

This newsletter is intended mainly for people outside EPFL. It describes important upcoming events, across all our campuses, that are open to the public.

Mediacom Events carefully selects which events to showcase in each issue.

If you would like to have your event included in the newsletter, please send your request along with the following information by email to [email protected], within the deadlines stated below.

Sent out on:
1st Wednesday of every month
Submission deadline for content:
Monday of the previous week

Required information:

  • Image
  • Planned date and time
  • Location
  • Language in which the event will be held
  • Event name
  • Brief description (100–250 characters)
  • Link to the event website or Memento page
  • This information must be provided in English and French.

Your request will be reviewed based on the following criteria:

  • How much space is available in the issue
  • Whether the event is open to the general public
  • Who the speaker is (the purpose and content of the event must align with EPFL’s core missions and values)
  • Whether the event addresses one of EPFL’s strategic focus areas (health, sustainability, digital security and AI)

We suggest you create a webpage for your event, if appropriate, in order to communicate about it clearly and effectively.

Your webpage must follow the EPFL brand guidelines and contain the EPFL logo (which must appear on all web pages related to EPFL events). Webpages for events held by EPFL-recognized student associations must also contain the “Recognized Association” label.

If you would like to promote your event in the newspaper, on TV or on the radio, send an email to Mediacom Content and put your Mediacom Events contact person on copy.

EPFL’s social media accounts

Contact Mediacom Content ([email protected]) if you would like to have your event relayed on EPFL’s social media accounts. Your request will be accepted if it is practically feasible and if your event is of current interest.
