Classrooms and lecture halls

All EPFL classrooms and lecture halls that can be reserved for events are equipped with AV equipment in standard (“teaching”) mode. This equipment includes:

  • a chalkboard or whiteboard and/or a screen
  • a projector
  • a microphone (in rooms with more than 80 seats)
  • for Zoom meetings, a camera and microphone system that can be set up with a USB cable. You need to schedule the Zoom meeting yourself and bring your own laptop to host and/or record the meeting. Contact the support desk (x1234) for help creating the links for a Zoom meeting.

Services et supports disponibles dans le cadre d’un Event services and support

Requests to hold EPFL events must be made using the Events form and submitted before the deadline applicable to the type of event you’re planning.

You can arrange to use EPFL’s standard services and facilities on your own. Any special requests or requests for non-standard services will need to be reviewed separately. Mediacom Events and EPFL’s Audiovisual Department will determine how to best meet the needs of your event.

You can bring in additional services for your event if needed, at your expense.

 

Non-standard services (“event mode”)
The following services are not considered standard (as described above) but can be requested for an EPFL event:

  • technical support after 5:30pm or during the weekend
  • the presence of one or more technicians at the event
  • special event services (such as for concerts and performances, interpreting, live recording, streaming, etc.)
  • special technical equipment or facilities
  • use of the Rolex Forum beyond the regular “teaching mode”

Audiovisual Department (SAVE)

The technicians at SAVE are responsible for making sure the AV equipment on our campuses works properly and for providing support during internal, School-related events.

Student assistants and selected service providers

If your event will require special assistance or non-standard services, you’ll need to hire a student assistant or one of EPFL’s selected service providers, at your expense.
