Description of the internship

  • The first step will involve participating in the practical construction of the refrigeration system to understand its operation as well as possible changes/modifications.
    It is possible to propose innovative ideas to improve cold rooms!
  • Moreover, the internship may involve designing and implementing the advanced remote monitoring system for ColdHubs to support operations.
  • Train ColdHubs personnel on the remote surveillance system and install the ColdHubs surveillance system in all operational ColdHubs.
  • Implementation of a surveillance system deployment system.
  • Quickly respond to any technical issue or emergency that may arise at each site.
  • Undertake site missions to assess performance and formulate appropriate recommendations, if necessary.

For architecture students: Participate in the design of the new model for our next-generation accommodation center! In collaboration with an architect in Nigeria, it will be possible to work together via “Home-Office” for the initial stage before joining the team for practical construction.

Required qualities and skills

  • Experience in setting up and monitoring the performance of solar energy and refrigeration remote monitoring systems
  • Excellent knowledge of English
  • Strong research and analysis skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills, as performance monitoring will be conducted monthly
  • Excellent computer skills

The development objectives are linked to reducing hunger while innovatively using renewable energies: ColdHubs Ltd. is a social enterprise that designs, installs, commissions, and operates 100% solar-powered cold rooms, called “ColdHubs”, in markets and clusters of agricultural enterprises. These cold rooms are intended for small-scale farms, retailers, and wholesalers, enabling them to store and preserve fruits, vegetables, and other perishable goods 24/7, thereby extending their shelf life from 2 to 21 days.
