Programme

The Doctoral School (EDOC), a separate entity from EPFL Architecture, supervises doctoral students in more than 20 research programmes, offering an academic environment of excellence. The doctoral programme in Architecture and Urban Sciences (EDAR) integrates architecture and the social sciences through an interdisciplinary approach that combines fundamental and applied research. EDAR offers training that combines independent research, personalised supervision, and compulsory courses in the first year, followed by specialisation in architecture or the social sciences through block weeks and seminars.

Conditions

The terms and conditions of the EDAR programme, including the recruitment of doctoral students, the organisation of their supervision, and the monitoring of their progress, are managed by EDOC, not by the architecture department. Doctoral students attend courses, participate in seminars and benefit from an academic environment of excellence in which to carry out their research.
