QCAL – Quantum device for ultra-precise calibration of electron spectrometers

QCAL is a novel electron spectrometer calibration device and method using quantum interactions between photonic chips and electron microscope beams that produce many precisely spaced sidebands in the EEL spectra. Spectral analysis provides spectrometer calibrations with μeV precision, orders of magnitude better than conventional methods. Qcal can be a disruptive technology for obtaining Synchrotron level meV energy resolution spectroscopy on beam-sensitive samples, such as biological material.
