ARCHITECT
RESEARCHER
Natalia Gómez Mateu is an architect, graduated from the University of Alicante. She understands architecture as a discipline in constant transformation, offering ways to reimagine how we inhabit the world and relate more sensitively and equitably to territories and ecologies.
She has worked on nature-based projects at Singular Green, on territorial planning at Elche City Council, and on collaborative initiatives such as the BKN – Baking Architecture collective, the independent study programme Organismo. Art in Applied Critical Ecologies programme (TBA21 – Thyssen Bornemisza Museum) and the Simbiontes project (La Cuarta Piel). These experiences reinforce his interest in transdisciplinary methodologies that link ecology, participation and territorial action.
At ALICE, she is developing her doctoral research within the frame of the Infrastructural Baukultur project, where she examines spatialisation tools—maps, diagrams, and models—as mediators in co-design processes, aiming to develop inclusive mapping practices that integrate ecological thinking, local knowledge, and diverse perspectives into territorial transformation.
