Community involvement

EPFL is committed to dedicating the necessary time to reflect and work collectively on how to best develop our educational programs so that they continue to equip students with the necessary knowledge, skills and mindset to thrive in this context and develop their full potential.

This collective effort relies on the close collaboration between sections, working groups and the wider EPFL community.

Role of the sections

Sections are at the core of the s’EPanouir–Flourish initiative.

  • Together with their teachers and teaching commissions, sections are responsible for developing their study programs in light of the project’s principles.
  • Their decisions are informed by the work carried out in the working groups, which provide data, models and examples to support program development.
  • Sections will have several opportunities to present the evolution of their programs, exchange practices and receive feedback from other sections.

Role of the Working Groups

The working groups ensure that the project advances in a coordinated and aligned way.

  • They offer a space for reflection, data collection and the development of design models to inform sections’ decisions.
  • They connect perspectives from students, teachers, services and leadership.

The composition of each working group is presented below.

Role of the community events

Community events are key moments in the life of the project. They are going to take place regularly in order to:

  • Inform the community about ongoing work and advances.
  • Open spaces for discussion and gather feedback on the developments.
  • Create opportunities for dialogue across teachers and students, disciplines and roles, to help build a shared vision for the future of EPFL education.
