Love that forgives all

At the heart of Christian theology lies the idea of grace and a divine love that never ceases to forgive. This love reaches out to and forgives imperfect human beings.

Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our trespasses, as we also forgive those who trespass against us.

                                                                                                The Bible

Forgiveness is central to Christianity, as illustrated by its main prayer, the Lord’s Prayer, words given by Jesus. This prayer shows that forgiveness is as essential to human beings as daily bread: it is a source of new life, liberating, soothing, and opening a path to the future.

How many times should I forgive a friend who has hurt me? Up to 70 times 7 times.

Jesus of Nazareth answers in the Gospel of Matthew.

This answer means that there is no limit to the number of times one should grant forgiveness.

The question of forgiveness appears many times in the Bible. How can one “love one’s enemies” or “turn the other cheek” to someone who has committed a violent act? In human relationships, Jesus advocates an attitude rooted in love and forgiveness. He calls on us to renounce all vengeance and resentment. This stance stems from faith in a loving and merciful God, who is the first to forgive.
