Leave for the Other Parent

In the event of a birth, EPFL grants 20 fully paid working days of leave to the other parent, in accordance with the Ordinance on EPF Personnel. This leave applies to the father of the child, the wife of the mother considered the other parent, as well as to adoptive fathers.

Usage Modalities

  • Duration: 20 working days
  • Proportionality: granted pro rata based on employment rate
  • Distribution:
    • First 10 days: to be taken within 6 months following birth or adoption
    • Remaining 10 days: to be taken within 12 months following birth or adoption
  • Leave may be taken all at once or as individual days

  2. Absence Registration
  3. Required Documents
    • Official birth certificate to be sent to the address above
    • For single fathers: also provide the paternity recognition certificate
  4. Compensation
    • A form to request loss of earnings allowances (APG) will be sent to you
