Biographies 

Susanne Eliasson is architect and led, with Anthony Jammes,  the office GRAU, a Paris-based architecture and urban planning. They received the ‘Young Planners Award’ from the French Ministry of Housing and Sustainable Habitat in 2016. With work spanning throughout France and Europe, GRAU works in the space between architecture and urbanism. Through numerous urban renewal projects, strategic studies on densification and ongoing research on horizontal urbanism the office has developed a strong expertise on issues regarding housing. Since 2010, GRAU has been working in and around Bordeaux developing several projects on the « Garden Metropolis », the residential low-rise city outside of the boulevards. In 2021 Susanne Eliasson was named head advising architect of the City of Bordeaux and in 2022 arc en rêve centre d’architecture in Bordeaux held the first monographic exhibition on the work of GRAU.

Sara Galletti is Associate Professor in the Department of Art, Art History and Visual Studies. She received an M.Arch. from IUAV (Venice) and a joint Ph.D. in the History of Architecture from the Sorbonne (Paris) and IUAV. Her field of research is early modern architectural theory and practice, with a focus on early modern Europe and the Mediterranean. She has published on secular and religious architecture, on Philibert de L’Orme, on the urban history of Paris, on the relations between space and social structures, as well as on the history of stereotomy.
