The College of Management of Technology (CDM) at EPFL invites applications for a faculty position in Ethics of Technology, broadly construed. We seek an outstanding scholar whose research examines ethical questions raised by technology, its role in society, and its regulation. The position is open to candidates from a broad range of fields including computer science, cognitive science, economics, engineering, life sciences, statistics and related disciplines. The appointment will be at the Associate or Full Professor level with an expected start date in September 2027 (or mutually agreed upon).
The successful candidate will be based in the College of Management of Technology and contribute to its mission of advancing research and education at the interface of technology, organizations, economy, and society. The position is intended to provide intellectual leadership across EPFL on the ethical and societal dimensions of technology. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an ambitious research and teaching program that connects to scientific and technological domains across campus. They must have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and contribute to CDM’s education programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
