IS Central Services

Our mission and objectives

The ISCS department manages and operates EPFL’s central information systems, providing direct support for the institution’s missions.

It ensures the reliability, security and development of key management platforms – ERP/SAP, Business Intelligence, Identity & Access, and business applications.

Its objectives are to ensure operational continuity, support digital transformation, provide high-performance services to departments and divisions, and offer robust data governance. Through its four units – ERP, BI, IAM and BA – ISCS contributes to a more efficient, data-driven and sustainable EPFL.

The services we offer

Business Intelligence (BI)

The unit’s mission is to provide decision-makers within the EPFL community with its expertise in business intelligence, i.e. all the tools and methods used to collect, consolidate, analyse and present an organisation’s data in order to facilitate decision-making and provide an overview of its activities.

Enterprise Ressource Planning (ERP)

The unit manages, develops and provides support for SAP systems in the areas of finance, human resources, purchasing and logistics. Its mission is to guarantee the reliability, performance and consistency of business processes via an integrated platform.

Identity Access Management (IAM)

The unit manages identities and access at EPFL. It develops and maintains IAM applications, the Institutional Data Access Desk (CADI), the api.epfl.ch portal and systems linked to the CAMIPRO card, ensuring reliable and secure distribution of basic data for the entire community.

Business Application (BA)

As an application partner to the IT department, the unit manages and develops EPFL’s critical business applications. It provides support, engineering and development for the strategic ServiceNow platform, ensuring high-performance solutions that are aligned with the needs of the community.
