How to Apply

  • Young researchers with a track record of excellence, who have earned their PhD degree by the time they begin at EPFL and less than 18 months before the application deadline. EPFL PhD graduates are not eligible.
  • Applicants must be nominated by their PhD supervisor or by a leader in the research community, explaining the exceptional accomplishments and potential of the candidate.
  • Submit in one PDF file: your brief CV, your publication list, a 3-page research proposal for the 5-year period.
  • Arrange to have the nomination letter and two additional reference letters, submitted by the letter writers directly.

Only applications with the full application material, including the nomination letter and the two reference letters will be taken into consideration.

Successful applicants will be notified in the second half of April and invited for an interview in principle on campus in Lausanne, Switzerland on May 27-29, 2026. Possible starting dates for the position are late 2026 or early 2027.
