Chair of Number Theory
Number is the ruler of forms and ideas, and the cause of gods and daemons.
“Number” is one of the first and most basic concepts we learn. However, many properties of numbers still remain mysterious. Here are a few examples of recently solved and still open questions in number theory. Modern number theory searches for the solutions to the classical problems and more importantly for the new conceptual frameworks explaining the nature of numbers and related geometric objects.
The Chair of Number Theory currently focuses on the following topics:
- The theory of automorphic forms
- Applications of automorphic forms to harmonic analysis and differential equations
- Packing problems
- Optimal configurations of points in geometric spaces.
