  • [November] The lab welcomes Mr. Kongliang Xu as a visiting PhD student. Kongliang is currently a PhD student in Jilin University, China.

[October] The lab welcomes Carlos Morales as a Ph.D. student. Carlos obtained his B.S. degree from Osaka University (Japan) and his M.S. degree from EPFL, both in Chemical Engineering.
[September] The lab welcomes Sébastien Guidoux and Mickael Montandon to carry out their master thesis projects.  
[September] The lab welcomes Martin Hansen from Danish Technical University as an exchange Ph.D. student. Martin is a physics Ph.D student in the group of Prof. Jan Rossemeisl, working on DFT calculations of surface catalysts.  
[September] The lab welcomes Lucas-Alexandre Stern as a Ph.D. student. Lucas-Alexandre obtained a M.S. degree from EPFL earlier this year.
[July] The lab welcomes Madeline Yin to carry out her semester project.
[July] The lab welcomes Dr. Tao Xu as a postdoctoral scholar. Dr. Xu received a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry in 2012.
[June] The lab welcomes Dr. Chi Wai Cheung as a postdoctoral scholar. Dr. Song received a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry in 2011 from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He joined us after a postdoc stay in MIT.
[May] The lab welcomes Dr. Fang Song as a postdoctoral scholar. Dr. Song received a Ph.D. in Materials Science from Shanghai Jiaotong University, China.

♦ [June] The lab welcomes Gerald Bauer as a Ph.D. student. An austrian native, Gerald received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from the Vienna University of Technology.
♦ [June] The lab welcomes Aurélien Godinat for a 3-month internship. Aurélien just finished his master’s study at EPFL.

♦ [April] Dr. Stéphane Fierro joined the lab for short-term postdoctoral research. Stéphane just received his Ph.D. from EPFL. He arrived on April 1st. Welcome, Stéphane!
♦ [February] The lab welcomes Natacha Aubry, Rima Drissi, Julien Falcy, and Kim Von Allmen to carry out their master semester projects.
♦ [January] Jan Breitenfeld joined the lab as a Ph.D. student. Jan obtained his diploma from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. He arrived on January 15th, 2010.

2009

♦ on January 15, Heron Vrubel joined the lab as a Ph.D. student. Heron holds both Brazilian and Hungarian passports. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Universidade Federal do Paraná- Curitiba in Brasil. Welcome, Heron!

2008
♦ Mr. Peng Ren joined the lab as a Ph.D. student. Peng received his B.S. degree from the Nankai University in China and he arrived on November 15. Welcome, Peng!
♦ The lab welcomes Dr. Chen Dafa as a postdoctoral scholar. Dafa received both his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Nankai University in China and he joined us on September 1.
♦ Francoise Borcard and Julie Risse carried out semester projects in our lab.

2007
♦ On October 1, Blaise Obrist joined our lab as a Ph.D. student. A Swiss native, Blaise studied at EPFL, where he obtained a B.S. in Molecular Science (2005) and M.S. in Molecular and Biological Chemistry (2007). His master’s project was on the total synthesis of aaptamine. Welcome, Blaise!
♦ On August 15, Oleg Vechorkin joined our lab as a Ph.D. student. A citizen of Ukraine, Oleg obtained his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in chemistry (with honors) from Karazin Kharkiv National University (Ukraine). His previous accomplishments include a silver metal in the International Chemistry Olympiad (2002), scholarships from the President of Ukraine (2002 and 2003), and a bronze price in the Ukrainian national swimming competition (for under 14). Welcome, Oleg!
♦ On August 4, Aswin Yellepeddi joined our lab as a summer intern. Aswin just finished his first year study in the chemistry program at EPFL. Welcome, Aswin!
♦ On July 15, Dr. Zsolt Csok joined our lab as a postdoctoral collaborator. A citizen of Hungary, Dr. Csok obtained his Ph.D. in chemistry from University of Veszprém (Hungary) in 2002. Before coming to EPFL, he conducted postdoctoral studies at the University of Salerno (Italy) and the University of Madeira (Portugal). Welcome, Zsolt!
