Presentation entitled, “Engineering Bio-wrappings for Optical Single-Walled Carbon Nanotube (SWCNT) Sensing Applications” by Ardemis Boghossian as part of the 17th International Conference on the Science and Application of Nanotubes and Low-dimensional Materials (NT16) in Vienna, Austria. The talk will be delivered on August 13, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. during the 7th Symposium on Carbon Nanomaterials Biology, Medicine & Toxicology.
Alessandra Antonucci will be presenting her work entitled, “Interaction of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) with photosynthetic organisms” as part of the “Bio-inspired nanosystems for energy conversion” workshop. The poster session will take place on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 between 7:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Harnack-Haus der Max Planck Gesellschaft in Berlin, Germany.

Vitalijs Zubkovs was selected to receive the 2016 Chemistry Travel Award by the <<Platform Chemistry>> of the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT), the Swiss Chemical Society (SCS), and the Swiss Society for Food Chemistry (SSFC). This honor will be highlighted in an article in the next issue of CHIMIA. Congratulations, Vitalijs!
The Roger Taylor Award is an international award for early career researchers nominated by their peers. Prof. Boghossian will be awarded the grant at the 229th ECS meeting for the seminar, “Wrapped Up in Nanotubes: Probing Photoluminescence Dynamics of Wrapped Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (SWCNTs)”.
The invited article, “Engineering the Selectivity of the DNA-SWCNT Sensor” has been accepted in the Journal of Solid-State Science and Technology. This article will be featured as part of the JSS Focus Issue on Nanocarbons in Sensing Applications. Congratulations to Justyna Kupis-Rozmysłowicz and Alessandra Antonucci on the publication!

Dejan will be presenting work entitled, “Excitonic Effects and Optical Spectra of Single-walled Carbon Nanotubes for Biosensor Applications in Life Sciences and Medicine” at the Swiss Chemical Society (SCS) Fall Meeting 2015 on EPFL campus.

Ardemis was awarded the Assistant Professor (AP) Energy Grant by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).
The manuscript entitled, “Applications of Nanoparticles for Reaction Oxygen Species (ROS) Scavenging in Photosynthetic Systems” has been published in ECS Transactions.
