Stability of fluidic oscillators

Fluidic oscillators can generate periodic flow oscillations, typically with sweeping or pulsing jets. Their simple and compact design, without any moving part, makes them practical for aerodynamic flow control. They have been studied extensively over the past decades but some aspects of the physical mechanisms at play are not fully understood.

In this project, numerical simulation and stability analysis (OpenFOAM, FreeFem++) will help characterize the flow for several designs of fluidic oscillators.
