Snowshoe Hike: A Winter Escape in the Vaud Jura

This excursion is open to anyone who loves nature and the mountains—no elite athletic level required, just a good general physical condition. The main requirement is a pair of broken-in, waterproof hiking boots.
On the Program:
We will set out from the Col du Mollendruz for an intermediate-level loop of about 2.5 hours, passing through La Bréguettaz before heading back to the pass. Accessible to beginners and experienced snowshoers alike, this trail winds through the snowy landscapes of the Vaud Jura, offering a peaceful setting for contemplation and introspection. Far from the city bustle, walking in the snow is a great way to recharge and boost your energy. It is also a wonderful opportunity to share a winter day out and connect with fellow students. If you have never tried snowshoeing before, this is the perfect time to start!
The hike will end at the Mollendruz alpine chalet. In this authentic setting overlooking breathtaking mountain views, we will share a traditional Swiss moitié-moitié fondue.
Practical Information:
  • Date & Time: Full day, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Cost: 15 CHF + public transport ticket (fondue subsidized by the Chaplaincy). Due upon registration (open until December 17, 2026).
  • Equipment: The Chaplaincy provides snowshoes for free with a 20 CHF deposit.
