The Full-Stack Development team creates and maintains web applications to support EPFL’s missions. It uses both existing solutions (on-site or SaaS, free or paid) and internal developments.

Our practices
The team adopts advanced DevOps practices to optimize the development cycle, from testing to production, by managing the application infrastructure through continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), automation, and monitoring. It takes over and develops applications created outside the VPO-SI, ensuring robustness and sustainability.
Our culture
We encourage the dissemination of best practices in development, open source and DevOps across EPFL units, particularly through documentation, contributions to GitLab and GitHub, and cross-functional collaboration. The team promotes recognized standards such as the twelve-factor app and configuration as code, adopting an agile and scalable approach to work.
It also shares its expertise by welcoming apprentices studying for a Federal Certificate of Proficiency (CFC) in application development and interns from technical schools.
