PhD Position

The Power Electronics Laboratory is currently looking for a PhD student to join our research team and support research activities in the domain of medium-voltage high-power electronic systems. The position is connected to a research project related to modular power electronic conversion technologies.

What do we expect?

The successful candidate must hold M.Sc. degree in the Electrical Engineering or Electronics (or is about to obtain one very soon) and have well developed skills in the practical design and optimization of power electronic converters. Previous research experience is an advantage, but not a must. You need to have solid research and technical background in power electronics, including practical design experience and experimental work in the laboratory testing. System design, optimization, modeling, simulations, control system development as well as practical realizations are all expected as part of the work. Previous teaching experience and supervision of undergraduate student’s projects are all beneficial assets. You are highly motivated to excell as researcher, with excellent organizational and communication skills (written and verbal, not ChatGPT), driven to innovate and make visible contributions in the field of power electronics.
