Medium Voltage Laboratory
We are well-equipped to conduct research activities in the domain of medium voltage high power electronics. Safety comes first, and all experiments are conducted within contained test cage areas.
With 1MW of electrical power available inside the laboratory, we can carry out MVDC (up to 10kVdc) and MVAC (up to 20kVac) high-power tests on our research prototypes. Various other mobile high-power supplies (e.g. 20kV-5A, 20V-2.25kA) and a 4Q grid emulator (50kW) are available for early prototype testing. Variable loads (300kW) as well as a mobile de-ionized water cooling unit (90kW) are part of the installation. AC dielectric tests can be conducted with voltages up to 100kV with very low background noise in the shielded cage. Multiple low-voltage machines are complemented with a medium-voltage machine group (IM + SM), rated at 6kV, 0.5MVA, providing us flexible test rig for variable speed drives-related activities.
Low Voltage Laboratory
Our low-voltage laboratory is equipped with numerous devices and equipment needed to carry out low-power, PCB-based designs and prototyping for research and educational needs.
