Laboratory of Sensory Processsing

The Laboratory of Sensory Processing aims for a causal and mechanistic understanding of sensory perception and associative learning at the level of individual neurons and their synaptic interactions within the complex signalling pathways of the mammalian brain.

Current experiments investigate: i) how neuronal circuits in the mouse brain change to transform whisker sensory information into goal-directed licking motor output through reward-based learning; and ii) how neuronal circuits process whisker sensory information in a context-dependent manner.
