Turbomachinery
Small-scale turbomachinery have a major role to play towards a more sustainable energy landscape. Typical applications are in refrigeration cycles, organic rankine cycles and for fuel cells. We are interested in understanding on how design guidelines are influenced by scale and how to mitigate losses on radial compressors and turbines related to downscaling. Experimental investigations on small-scale machines allow us to validate and calibrate our novel reduced order models.
