The Israeli-Palestinian situation: Sharing Emotions and Dialogue

ACTIVITY HELD MAINLY IN FRENCH

Two meetings are being organized to provide participants with an opportunity to discuss the Israeli-Palestinian situation, drawing inspiration from families who have lost loved ones to war and have chosen to talk to one another, listen to one another, and seek reconciliation. This is not intended to be a forum for debate, nor is it aimed at resolving the issue.

During the two 90-minute sessions, the program consists of:

Watching video testimonials from bereaved Israeli and Palestinian parents who have chosen reconciliation over revenge.
Participating in group activities designed to address the conflict in a heart-centered way, recognizing the emotions and needs of everyone involved, including your own.

The videos and activities are produced by Listening from the Heart, an initiative of American Friends of the Parents Circle–Families Forum (PCFF), two organizations committed to reconciliation between Palestinians and Israelis. PCFF members have lost family members in the conflict and yet have chosen dialogue and reconciliation. They are convinced that if they can take this step, anyone can. Their approach is based on humility and the search for a way forward. And indeed, if those who have lost the most can follow a path of dialogue, who cannot?

In order to build rapport and trust over time, the two meetings go hand in hand, and the registration below applies to both. Participants will be asked to engage in the process in accordance with the values of genuine and respectful dialogue from the heart. The limits of what each person wishes to share or not share will be respected.

The sessions will take place on Tuesday, April 28 and May 5 from 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at EPFL. The location will be communicated to registered participants in due course.
