Autumn Semester 2026
Coming soon: Find Your Lab Apéro
Looking for a semester project, or curious about PhD life? We’re inviting PhD students from labs across EPFL to an informal apéro with master’s students. Come and discover ongoing research, ask your questions about projects and life as a PhD student, and make connections for your next semester project.
SCHIIQ Apéro (30 September 2026)
We hosted an apéro to introduce SCHIIQ, an affordable, open-source desktop quantum computer built specifically for education. SCHIIQ is an EPFL MAKE project, developed together with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW).

Start of Semester BBQ (10 September 2026)
We kicked off the new semester with a barbecue by the lake at Plage de Vidy. About 35 new and returning students came along to meet each other and enjoy the evening together.

EPFL Master Welcome Day (4 September 2026)
As every year, QET was at the EPFL Master Welcome Day to greet the new Quantum Science and Engineering students. We introduced QET and our activities and offered a welcome apéro.
QET Hoodies (Distribution on 6 July 2026)
Our new QET hoodie is here! Many of you sent in design ideas, and the winning design was printed on 30 hoodies.

Spring Semester 2026
End of Semester BBQ (21 May 2026)
We celebrated the end of the spring semester with a barbecue by the lake at Plage de Vidy. It was a relaxed evening to unwind before the summer exam session.
Quantum Debate (29 April 2026)
One of the highlights of our year! Nicolas Gisin (UNIGE), Michael Esfeld (UNIL), Renato Renner (ETH Zürich) and Vincenzo Savona (EPFL) debated the measurement problem. The discussion continued over an apéro afterwards. We co-organised the event with EPFL’s Physics and Philosophy associations.

Spring Apéro (12 March 2026)
Our first event of the spring semester. About 15 students joined us to catch up after the winter break and start the new semester together.
