Drawing, writing and memory to think the city and the construction of space

The observations are the result of a common milieu, the School and the Open City, Amereida, where for over 60 years this mode of contemplation has been practiced, bodily drawing the world as present, whether in urban or natural space, sketches accompanied by a short text which illuminates what the pictures illustrate.

This is a possible way to understand and envisage the city, the present, and the life that they hold, the point of departure being unique fragments that just state in their lines and text what they themselves are.

As all contemplation is based on an abundance, of which strokes and text are a sign, where the memory of the architect is used in the construction of space.

This city of Valparaíso, in its uniqueness, with its plenitude, allows the work to reveal glimpses of an urbanism that is a possibility of thinking the city in America.
