Venue

The conference will take place at the The Olympic Museum, located on the shores of Lake Geneva in the Olympic district of Ouchy. Founded by the International Olympic Committee, the museum is dedicated to the history and values of the Olympic Games and hosts world-class exhibitions and events.

Conference sessions will take place in the museum’s modern auditorium, offering state-of-the-art audiovisual facilities in a unique setting overlooking the lake and the Alps. Situated just minutes from the city center, the venue combines excellent accessibility with one of the most scenic locations in Lausanne.

Travel

Arriving by plane

The nearest international airport is Geneva Airport, about 45–60 minutes from Lausanne by train. Other international airports include Zurich Airport and EuroAirport Basel–Mulhouse–Freiburg.

Both Geneva and Zurich airports have railway stations located directly within the airport terminal. From the airport, take a train operated by Swiss Federal Railways to Lausanne.

Approximate travel times:

  • Geneva Airport → Lausanne: ~50 minutes
  • Zurich Airport → Lausanne: ~2 h 15 min
  • Basel → Lausanne: ~2 hours

Arriving by train

The main train station is Lausanne railway station, which offers frequent connections to major Swiss and European cities.

  • From Lausanne Station to the Venue
  • Take the Lausanne Metro M2 direction Ouchy-Olympique.
  • Exit at Ouchy-Olympique (the final stop).
  • Walk 5 minutes uphill to the Olympic Museum.
  • Total travel time: approximately 10 minutes.

Arriving by car

From the A1 motorway, follow signs for Lausanne-Sud / Ouchy and exit at Lausanne-Ouchy. Continue following signs to the Olympic Museum.

Parking is available in nearby public parking facilities (e.g., Parking Port d’Ouchy and Parking Navigation). However, public transport is recommended as parking in the Ouchy area is limited.

Accommodation

Accommodation is not included in the registration fee and should be booked separately by participants.

Recommended Hotel

Participants may book accommodation at the Starling Hotel Lausanne, located next to EPFL.

Distance to the venue
The hotel is approximately 25–30 minutes by public transport from the The Olympic Museum. A typical route is metro M1 (EPFL → Flon) followed by metro M2 (Flon → Ouchy-Olympique) and a short walk to the museum.

Lausanne Transport Card

Guests staying in hotels in Lausanne receive the Lausanne Transport Card upon arrival. The card provides free and unlimited access to public transport within the city, including metro, buses, and local trains, for the duration of the stay.
