Research internship

Spend eight weeks immersed in cutting-edge research within an EPFL laboratory. With around 500 laboratories and research groups working across disciplines, EPFL offers a diverse range of opportunities to explore innovative research and technology. Discover the laboratory or research group that matches your interests and take your first steps into the world of science.

Research Symposium

The WISER journey concludes with the Research Symposium, a celebration of the work accomplished throughout the summer. During this event, participants present their research projects alongside students from the Summer in the Lab and Laidlaw programs to an audience including EPFL community members, laboratory supervisors, donors, and the general public. Depending on the chosen format, each student will share their work through either a three-minute oral presentation or a scientific poster.

Beyond providing an opportunity to communicate their research and reflect on their achievements, the Research Symposium encourages interdisciplinary exchange by allowing participants to discover projects from a wide range of scientific fields, connect and network with fellow student researchers, and build relationships across disciplines.
