A reminder email has been sent to all those who didnt pay

As voted upon at our last general assembly to lower our membership fees from 40 CHF/year:

20 CHF/year for PhD candidates

30 CHF/year for postdocs and scientists

Our fees guarantee the financial independence of ACIDE, so we can hold events and workshops proposed by members like yourself.

??️?‍??‍??‍? Personnel Commission at EPFL ??️?‍??‍??‍?

Following a request from the Staff Association of the Confederation (APC) and a mandate from the EPFL Direction, the Human Resources Direction (HRD) and the School Assembly (AE) are submitting to your vote the principle of creating a PersonnelCommission (CoPe) at EPFL. This future CoPe would represent all professional categories working at EPFL, serving as the internal body representing all employee interests, in particular concerning working conditions. While the CoPe would be independent in its recommendations and positions, its structure would be integrated within the School Assembly.

Revision of the ETH Domain Fees Ordinance

At the request of the Federal Parliament, the ETH Board has taken note of the proposal to implement art. 34d, para. 2bis of the ETH Law, which provides for a threefold increase in tuition fees for foreign students who take up residence in Switzerland to study, or who are not resident in Switzerland. Another aspect of the revision is the indexation of all tuition fees to the Swiss consumer price index, to take account of the re-benchmarking.

Many of your academic colleagues have already participated in the Swiss-Wide Mental Health Survey (SWiMS) 2024! If you haven’t, please consider taking part in the survey and contribute to improving working conditions at EPFL

The goal of this survey is to identify problems and areas for improvement in working conditions and mental health locally and nationally. The survey report with the results for EPFL specifically will help us to foster changes towards a better working culture here. At the same time, combining local and national forces provides a unique opportunity for lasting changes.
