Tamara Milosevic
Director of the Transversal Skills and Career Center
An engineer in molecular biology (University of Zagreb) and holder of a PhD in systems biology from University Paris Cité, Tamara has been teaching at university for over 10 years. Using a project-based approach and working in interdisciplinary teams, she offers Bachelor, Master and Doctorate students the development of transversal skills important for their careers. As an independent consultant, she worked with several universities in France and on European projects, before joining EPFL as a pedagogical advisor in 2021. She teaches at EPFL in the SHS program and is a member of the EPFL Teachers Council (CCE). Tamara has a continuous education degree in Innovative Scientific Communication from University Paris Cité and is currently doing a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Training assessment engineering at HEP Vaud. She is of Croatian origin, speaks French and English and has a basic knowledge of (Swiss-)German. She is passionate about the marine world and the interface between science and arts
Philippe Ory
Senior Career Advisor
Philippe created the EPFL Career Center in 2006 (now the Transversal Skills and Career Center) and has headed it until the end of 2022. An EPFL graduate (Electrical Engineering – class of 1986) and holder of a Master in Logistics and Supply-Chain Management (IML 1994), Philippe has held several management positions in top IT companies such as HP, IBM, Quantum and CNET Networks. He also co-started two companies. Philippe speaks French and English.
Tania Candolfi
Executive Assistant
A certified Business Clerk, Tania Candolfi started her career at the Swiss Engineers and Architects Association (SIA). She then joined the private sector as an executive secretary in a recruitement agency before moving to the travel industry as an accountant. Tania speaks French, Italian and English.
Aurélie Secrétan
Academic and Career Advisor
A graduate Psychologist from the University of Geneva specialized in Human Resources, Aurelie Secrétan has worked in student placement at Nottingham Trent University. She later joined the Swiss Post, where she was in charge of coaching and enhancing the workforce’s employability in Western Switzerland. She has a lot of experience in conducting interviews and has designed and run several seminars in the fields of career moves and skills developpement. She speaks French, English and German.
Catherine Marselli-Pasquier
Master internship program Central Coordinator
Graduating as an engineer from EPFL in 1994, Catherine went on to receive a Doctoral degree from the University of Neuchatel. She held several subsequent positions in project development and management in business and in academia. Interested by management, she also obtained an MBA from the University of Applied Sciences School of Business Administration) in Neuchatel. Catherine works in parallel for the Faculty of Science at EPFL where she assists students in searching for their internships and organizes workshops on job search techniques and the (non-academic) workplace. She speaks fluent French and English, and has a good working knowledge of German.
Regina Cardoso
Administrative Specialist
Regina is a passionate advocate for human connections and exploring diverse cultures. She holds a degree in Social Communication Sciences from the Federal University of Minas Gerais and a Swiss commercial employee CFC. After a year-long linguistic exchange in the United States, she settled in Switzerland in 1996, starting her career as an educational assistant at a language institute in Lausanne. Transitioning to administrative roles in various sectors, Regina is fluent in French, English, and Portuguese.
Sabine Demerlé
Employer Relations Officer
Sabine Demerlé holds a Master of Science from HEC Lausanne (business administration). She worked in national and international companies from various sectors including banking, watchmaking, automotive and FMCG where she held different marketing roles and specialized in market research. Sabine speaks fluent French and English and has a solid knowledge of German and Spanish. She is the mother of two children, enjoys travelling and loves to go mountaineering.
Helena Kovacs
Transversal Skills Project Manager
Helena is a social scientist and as a Project Manager for Transversal Skills, she is responsible for preparing, implementing and assessing transversal skills across EPFL. Previous to joining Transversal Skills and Career Center, Helena worked four years at Centre for Learning Sciences, as a researcher on education, teaching and learning at EPFL. She also worked as a consultant for education and innovation in a UK-based international consultancy. Helena co-chairs the Special Interest Group for Ethics in engineering education as part of the European Society for Engineering Education (SEFI). She obtained her PhD as a recipient of the Marie Curie fellowship in the European Doctorate for Teacher Education (EDITE) as a joint degree between Hungary (ELTE) and Portugal (University of Lisbon) examining teacher learning in innovative schools. Her Master’s degree was an Erasmus Mundus joint degree in Lifelong Learning: Policy and Management (Aarhus University and University of Deusto), and for her Bachelor, she did studies in Community Youth Work and non-formal education (Jönköping University)
Adélie Garin
Project Officer
After a PhD in Mathematics at EPFL and a few years of teaching, Adélie joined the CCTC and the Vice-Presidency for Responsible Transformation (VPT) as project manager for sustainability education and transversal skills. Through various academic and extra-curricular initiatives, she puts her scientific knowledge, networks and creativity to good use. Throughout her studies and career, she has been involved in science outreach and raising awareness about sustainability, using her skills to create links between different fields and connect the scientific world to the general public. She speaks French and English, and has a good knowledge of German
Marina Caretti
Project Coordinator
Marina is a chemical engineer turned project coordinator with extensive experience in project management in the Energy and Materials Science sectors. Her career path has taken her from a Master’s degree in a “French Grande Ecole” at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie Montpellier to a doctorate from EPFL, where her thesis work focused on novel technologies for solar-to-hydrogen conversion. With interests in both academia and industry, bridging the two sectors has been a unique and constant feature of her educational and professional path. In addition to completing her PhD at EPFL (European project Sun-to-X), Marina’s professional experience includes roles at Toyota Motor Europe R&D and Ferroglobe working on large-scale R&D initiatives in materials science, renewable energy technology and sustainable development. Currently Marina coordinates the EuroTeQ project at EPFL aimed at creating a European network of both universities and industrial partners to support excellence in engineering. She speaks French, English and Italian.
