Quality Management System

The quality management system provides EPFL Direction with an overview of the processes, specific instruments and responsibilities related to quality.

The EPFL Direction is responsible for the continuous improvement of all processes.

At EPFL, there are 3 categories of processes:

  1. Managerial and strategic processes are the responsibility of the EPFL President, Vice Presidency for Support to Strategic Initiatives (VPS) and other members of EPFL Direction.
  2. Processes Educating, Researching and Innovating are the responsibility of the corresponding Schools and Colleges and Vice Presidency for Academic Affairs (VPA) and Vice Presidency for Innovation and Impact (VPI).
  3. Operational and financial processes are the responsibility of the Vice Presidency for Finances (VPF), the Vice Presidency for Human Development (VPH), Vice Presidency for Operations (VPO).

All the processes are planned, realised, controlled and improved by means of specific quality instruments. The improvements are summarised in a register (Enhancement Register 2023-2024).
