During the studies for the Master of Science in Chemical engineering & Biotechnology, an internship in industry is required. Its objective is to have a first professional immersion, and get familiar with the industry processes and with the requirements of the engineer profession.
This usually takes place during the 3rd semester, unless a minor is taken in which case it happens during the 4th semester (coupled with the PDM).
- length: full semester → 17 to 25 weeks
- credits: 30 (pass or fail)
- location: company or non-academic organization (universities and schools are not allowed). Research centers can be considered for applied topics only.

Conditions
- Internship agreement: Third-party contract (student, company, EPFL) -> please contact Anne Lene Odegaard
- Remuneration: none but recommendation is 2’000 CHF/month (actual average is above)

from the supervisor: evaluation form
from ISIC supervisor: entering pass/fail grade into IS-Academia
from student: activity report as well as any requirement from the company
