SB Sustainability

At the School of Basic Sciences, our commitment to sustainability is rooted in our core mission: fundamental research. We believe that solving global environmental challenges requires a deep understanding of the mathematical, physical, and chemical principles that govern our universe. Our research spans a wide range of breakthroughs, with pioneering work in areas such as photovoltaics, carbon capture, quantum efficiency, and fusion energy frontiers representing just a few of our ongoing contributions.

The SB Sustainability Office is dedicated to implementing EPFL’s Climate and Sustainability Strategy for the School of Basic Sciences, encompassing both academic and operational aspects. Its mission is to minimize the School’s environmental impact by integrating and advancing sustainability projects.
