3D-Printed Porous Hydroxyapatite Formed via Enzymatic Mineralization
Scientific paper
Inspired by bone, the authors developed an energy-efficient method to 3D print hydroxyapatite-based scaffolds at room temperature using an enzyme-mediated process. After 7 days of mineralization, the scaffolds become load-bearing, show low cytotoxicity, and possess a porous structure that promotes cell infiltration. This approach is promising for bone tissue engineering and mineral repair.
