Master

The SIE section offers two master’s programs designed to equip engineers with specialized skills to develop effective solutions for pressing challenges in both natural and urban environments.

The Master’s programs at EPFL are designed to be flexible and give students the opportunity to customize their curricula, through project-based learning, according to their ambitions and aspirations.

Our Master’s studies typically span 4 to 5 semesters, consisting of a Master’s cycle (90 ECTS) followed by a one-semester Master thesis (30 ECTS). Students must also complete a 2- to 6-month industry internship in order to obtain the title of engineer.

Education is in English, with some specific optional courses in French.

Both our Master’s programs are consecutive to a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences and Engineering obtained at EPFL. For other EPFL Bachelor holders and for non-EPFL Bachelor holders: please read the conditions in the dedicated pages below.
