The Research Office supports the EPFL research community in administrative tasks linked to funding acquisition and research projects.

Mission

The Research Office has several missions:

  • Inform the EPFL research community on funding opportunities
  • Support application processes and contracting for public and not-for-profit funding
  • Help with management of large research and mobility projects
  • Assist with ethical aspects linked to EPFL research projects.

13th Call for Proposals – Cyber-Defence (CYD) Fellowships

— Cyber-threats have been accelerating due to the exponential growth of network connectivity. These new capabilities provide myriad opportunities for security hackers to wreak significant damage for commercial, political, or other gains. To promote research and education in cyber-defence, EPFL, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, and the Cyber-Defence (CYD) Campus have jointly launched the “CYD Fellowships – A Talent Program for Cyber-Defence Research.” There are two calls per year and the 13th call is now open.

SNSF Project Funding: Spring 2025 grant recipients announced

— Out of 350 granted SNSF Project Funding research projects, EPFL has been listed as the responsible institution in 37 granted proposals. Additionally, EPFL researchers are participating as other applicants in 5 projects and as project partners in 10 others.

CYBER-DEFENCE FELLOWSHIPS: Raphael Monstein and Benoit Figuet

— To promote o promote new solutions to major challenges in the fields of security and data science, EPFL and the Cyber-Defence (CYD) Campus have jointly launched the CYD Proof of Concept Fellowships, as part of the CYD Fellowships – A Talent Program for Cyber-Defence Research. This month we introduce you to Raphael Monstein and Benoit Figuet, co-recipients of the CYD PoC Fellowship and founders of SkAI Data Services. Raphael and Benoit are sharing a single fellowship position, working together to advance their project.
