Digital Education

The universities’ transition to digital education, including the sustainable integration of digital tools and technologies as well as the adoption of new pedagogical approaches, requires upskilling.
This programme has three components, namely the production and sharing of relevant and quality digital educational resources, the transfer of techno-pedagogical expertise to partner universities, and the development of relevant and quality continuing education programmes aimed at strengthening the professional and technical skills of young graduates in Africa.

Accompanying the digital transition
Through its Digital Education pillar, the Excellence in Africa initiative aims to promote the sustainable integration of digital education in African universities. Selected institutions receive support in the form of expertise and funding. The creation of Centres of Competence in Digital Education (C-CoDE) includes:
- training in the technical and pedagogical aspect of digital education, and
- building the necessary infrastructure to produce quality digital educational content, such as Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and Open Educational Resources (OER).
