PhD Position in Technology & Operations Management
The Chair of Technology and Operations Management (TOM) at the College of Management is offering a full-time PhD student position within the EPFL doctoral school program.
Our research targets problems that arise in product assortment optimization, omni-channel inventory management, inventory theory, and demand forecasting. We also address challenges in supply chain resilience and sustainability modeling, and supply network design. Methodologically, our work is rooted in operations research and focuses, though not exclusively, on analytical modeling, stochastic optimization, and mathematical programming. The objective of our research is to develop an understanding of individual supply chain components (such as forecasting, product variety management, pricing, supply network design, and distribution channel management) and their interrelationships with other company functions like strategy, marketing and finance. Whenever possible, we strongly encourage industry collaboration to help bridge between theory and practice.
