Fall 2026
Foundations are essential architectural and structural elements, yet they are routinely excluded from how buildings are represented and evaluated. With a focus on physical models as a way of forming a more complete understanding of a project, this semester project asks what happens when internationally recognized buildings are considered as a whole-both above and below ground-revealing the material expenditure and embodied carbon concealed beneath expressions of lightness, transparency, and structural elegance. The results will help prepare a public exhibition at Archizoom in Fall 2027 and will be attributed as contributing to it.
