August 2025

Date : August 2025

Location : Lake Geneva – Switzerland, 46°27′N 6°33′E, altitude 372 m

Team members : Santona Khatun, Beate Anna Klepere, Sébastien Lavanchy.

Activities : The team conducted fieldwork on Lake Geneva to study greenhouse gases. Using the advanced SubOcean probe, we measured methane and nitrous oxide profiles down to 300 meters, alongside environmental parameters. Water and nutrient samples were also collected to better understand the microbial and biogeochemical processes driving gas production. The mission is part of a long-term program assessing the role of Swiss lakes in global greenhouse gas emissions.
