By advancing the 1H, 13C, 15N, 31P MR Spectroscopy methodological developments at ultra-high field, and combining them with other modalities (e.g. Positron Emission Tomography, Electron Paramagnetic Resonance and Microscopy) for Mapping Brain Metabolism and Microstructure in vivo, we aim to address significant human health concerns and gain new knowledge.

Applications:

– mapping of brain metabolism in vivo and it’s reginal vulnerability in neurological diseases using MR Spectroscopy and MR Spectroscopic Imaging

– study of oxidative stress in neurological diseases using MR Spectroscopy, Electron Paramagnetic Resonance and Microscopy

– mapping of brain glucose metabolism in neurological diseases using MR Spectroscopy and Positron Emission Tomography

– in vivo brain microstructural changes in neurological diseases using MR Diffusion Weighted Spectroscopy, MR Diffusion Weighted Imaging and Microscopy
