Carolyn Crichton is a PhD candidate in the Management of Technology at EPFL, specializing in large-scale international research collaborations in astronomy and space science. She earned her Executive MBA from EPFL, where her Strategic Innovation Project examined how to define and measure success in diverse research consortia. 

Carolyn’s career spans leadership roles across government and academia. She began as a contractor at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, later became Project Manager for the HIRAX radio telescope in South Africa, and now serves as Program Director of SKACH, the Swiss consortium supporting the Square Kilometre Array Observatory, based at EPFL. In this role, she also manages research projects at the Laboratory of Astrophysics (LASTRO), advancing Switzerland’s contributions to global space science. Her work integrates project management, stakeholder engagement, and innovation, with a focus on building sustainable and inclusive research ecosystems.
