ELSA is the association for the scientific staff (corps intermédiaire).

At the General assembly it was voted on that Scientists should also be better represented alongside PhDs and Postdocs.

Proposed Federal Budget Cuts

Alongside ETHZ, other universities, and our pan-Swiss association, ActionUNI, ELSA is in strong opposition to proposed cuts to by the Federal Council on Education and Research in Switzerland. This is in collaboration with associations representing all levels, students, scientific staff and professors.

ELSA alongside other EPFL and UNIL associations gave a statement to the press in regards to these proposed cuts. Our statement and that of ActionUNI are below.

LEX 4.4.4 – Proposed directive on teaching assistance by doctoral candidates at EPFL – Deadline March 23 2026

This effects PhD teaching assistant time and the the provenance of funds that can fund this teaching assistant time. It clarifies the role of teaching assistants for PhD and provides flexibility in its implementation across EPFL

ETH Board Strategic Plan for 2029-2032 for the ETH Domain – Deadline March 17 2026

This document will form the strategy for the ETH Board for the coming years. It will set out the objectives and organization development of the entire ETH Domain. It will determine the financial requirements of the ETH Domain and as a reference for the Federal Council

Native Food Labs will stay open during the semester from Monday TO Thursday from 18h30 to 20h30
During Ramadan , Alpine will also be open on Monday AND Thursday from 17h to 21h!
