PhD/Postdoc parent or soon to be? This is for you! Exchange about all the fun (and not-so-fun) things you experience at EPFL as a parent and update yourself on current efforts to improve the situation. Joining is also an opportunity to share tips and find solutions together.

The language of the meetings is English, but we can accommodate a lot of other ones, so no need to be a perfect bilingual person to attend !

💳📈📉Investment Seminar – April 3 2025

Based on your feedback from our previous events, we* are organizing a seminar on Investments, with the finance specialist Mr. Johan Lobmeyer, MBA.
Main topics:

Fundamentals of Investments with use-cases
Practical explanations for investment platforms
Red flags to avoid

This seminar is planned for in-person participation only, with only 25 spots available. The registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis, with paid members of ELSA/EPDA having a priority. To ensure a spot in this seminar and future events don’t forget to sign up with ELSA (just 20CHF per year for PhD students and it helps us to organize these kind of events). This event has a participation fee of 5 CHF, to be paid via camipro, once your registration is confirmed.

Funding cuts in Switzerland – Our Position

Alongside other associations, ActionUni, that represents us at the federal level has released this:

Swiss mid-level academic staff associations call for maintaining funding for Switzerland’s high-quality research and teaching

We join in supporting swissuniversities, the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences, the ETH Board and Innosuisse in maintaining funding for research
