Services for teachers

The Archives de la construction moderne are pleased to support EPFL teaching staff in their educational projects involving the use of archival sources.

Examples of services offered:

  • General presentations on archives with a focus on the Acm, either in the classroom or on-site, to explain to students the nature, organization, and functioning of our archives, the different types of documents we preserve, and issues related to the proper use of digital reproductions and copyright.

  • Thematic presentations of a specific fonds or file to explore a particular topic in depth and show students how to make the most of the available documents.

  • Training and orientation sessions. These sessions are designed especially for students to familiarize them with how to use archives, methods of archival research, and best practices for analyzing and managing archival documents. Sessions are tailored to the specific needs of your courses or research projects.

  • Hands-on workshops. For a more interactive approach, we can organize practical workshops where participants work directly with archival documents, learning how to interpret and organize them into a logical and coherent structure. Discovering how a fonds is organized sharpens the ability to conduct targeted document searches.

  • Personalized consultation. We offer personalized consultation services to help you identify the most relevant documents for your research. Our staff is available to answer your questions and guide you in using our inventories and other online research tools.
