How to reach EPFL from Geneva
- From Geneva Airport or Geneva City, the easiest and fastest way to reach EPFL is to take a train to Lausanne or to Renens (station right before Lausanne). Schedules, prices and general information can be viewed on the Swiss railways website CFF.
- Once in Lausanne or Renens, you will have to take the Metro. Useful information about the local transportation system can be consulted on the Transports Lausannois (TL) website.
Arrival at Lausanne Train Station
- Exit the train station.
- Buy a metro tickets (M1 & M2) at the ticket machine, next to the metro station (see next point). Select “Grand Lausanne zones 11 and 12” – validity 1h: Chf. 3.60 (find more info here).
- Take the M2 Metro, which is located just accross the street, in front of the train station. Go direction “Croisettes” for one stop. Get off at “Lausanne-Flon” station.
- Find the M1 Metro by climbing the stairs once you get off.
- Get off at “EPFL” station.
Arrival at Renens Train Station
- Buy a metro tickets (M1 & M2) at the ticket machine, next to the metro station (see next point). Select “Grand Lausanne zones 11 and 12” – validity 1h: Chf. 3.60 (find more info here).
- Take the M1 Metro in the train station.
- Get off at “EPFL” station.
