May, 22th-25th 2017: At the Spring Meeting of the European Materials Research Society (E-MRS) in Strasbourg, France, Josua Stuckelberger will give an oral presentation about his newest results on “Phase-seperated SiOx layers with vertically oriented silicon inclusions for passivating contacts in silicon solar cells”.

March, 9th 2017: EPFL Microcity is hosting the SMYLE workshop between the two institutions EPFL & FEMTO-ST on the topic of “Energy”. The program includes several talks and discussions about the key technologies for the energy of tomorrow from the research as well as an industrial perspective. Students are welcome to participate to the event and the discussions. Please register here, before the 3rd of March.

June, 5th-10th 2016: At the 43rd IEEE PVSC conference in Portland, Oregon, Dr. Björn Niesen will give an extended talk about the newest results on “High-Efficiency Perovskite/Silicon Heterojunction Tandem Cells”. Another oral presentation will be given by Gizem Nogay about “Microcrystalline Silicon Carrier Collectors for Silicon Heterojunction Solar Cells: Impact on Low Temperature Device Characteristics”. The work on “Passivating Contacts for Silicon Solar Cells with 800°C Stability based on Tunnel-Oxide and Highly Crystalline Thin Silicon Layer” will be presented as a Poster by Dr. Philipp Löper.

May, 2nd-6th 2016: At the EMRS conference in Lille, France, 3 speakers from PV-Lab will give invited talks. Dr. Franz-Josef Haug will talk about “Light scattering in Si solar cells – where rays meet waves”, Dr. Monica Morales will present the newest “Advances in the Development of High Performance In-free TCOs” and Dr. Stephanie Essig will discuss “Si-based tandem solar cells with 30% record one-sun efficiency”.

September, 14th-18th 2015: The EU PVSEC will take place in Hamburg, Germany, where Prof. C. Ballif will give a plenary talk about ultra-high efficient photovoltaics with perovskite/crystalline silicon tandem devices. An oral talk will be held by A. Tomasi about efficient electrodes on back-contacted silicon heterojunction solar cells and Dr. N.Wyrsch will show a poster on demand side management for enhanced integration of photovoltaics into the grid.

June, 14th-19th 2015: At the iEEE PVSC in New Orleans, Prof. Ballif will present new developments in silicon heterojunction solar cells and opportunities for low manufactering costs. In an oral talk A. Tomasi will show the influence on carrier recombination of TCOs in heterojunction cells. J.Stuckelberger will present a Poster about passivated interfaces in fluorinated microcrystalline silicon thin film solar cells.

May, 11th-13th 2015: At the HOPV15 in Rome,Italy, J.Werner will present his work on near-infrared semitransparent Perovskite solar cells.

May, 11th-15th 2015: At the E-MRS Spring Meeting in Lille, France, Dr. S. De Wolf will give an oral presentation.

April, 27th-29th 2015: At the SolarTR-3 in Ankara, Turkey, Dr. S. De Wolf will give an oral presentation.

April, 6th-10th 2015: At the MRS Spring meeting in San Francisco, California, Dr. N. Wyrsch will present the work of PVLab. A  tutorial symposium is given by Dr. S. De Wolf about Silicon Heterojunction Solar Cells. This topic will also be presented in oral talks by Dr. B. Niesen, Dr. B. Demaurex and J.Seif. Dr. M. Morales and Dr. A.Dabirian will represent our group of TCO’s and give oral talks. G. Nogay will present a Poster about photoluminescence in nanocrystalline silicon.

March, 23th-26th 2015: The 5th Silicon PV will take place in Constance, Germany, where J.Seif will give an oral talk about his work on the ambient-temperature impact on passivation and performance of Silicon Heterojunction Solar Cells.

February, 24th-27th 2015: At the NREL Photovoltaic Reliability Workshop in Golden, Colorado, a Poster will be presented by E. Annigoni.

February, 26th 2015: At the TEDx in San José, Costa Rica, Dr. M. Morales will give an invited talk.

November, 23rd-27th 20146th World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion in Kyoto. Prof. Ballif, a keynote speaker, presents the major results of the PV-Lab. Dr. B. Niesen give an invited talk on light management in thin-film silicon multijunction cells, Dr. S. Hänni presents thin-film solar cells results and Dr. P. Löper presents the development on Perovskite/Silicon based tandem solar cells.

October, 12th-17th 2014: 5th International Symposium on Transparent Conductive Materials in Crete, Greece. Dr. M. Morales-Masis and Dr. S. Martin de Nicolas will give oral presentations and L. Fanni presents a Poster.

September, 22nd-26th 2014: 26th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (EU-PVSEC) in Amsterdam. Prof. Ballif presents the lab’s result in a plenary oral and five PV-Lab members (Dr. J.-W. Schüttauf, Dr. E. Moulin, M. Stückelberger, Y. Riesen, G.Cattaneo) present their work.

September, 15th-19th 2014: At the EMRS Fall Meeting 2014 in Warsaw, Poland, Fabien Dauzou presented his work on ZnO deposited by LP-MOCVD about the impact of the crack density on film structure and optoelectronic devices.

September, 19th 2014: Simon Hänni presents the research done during his PhD thesis entitled “Microcrystalline Silicon for High-Efficiency Thin-Film Photovoltaic Devices”. Congratulations!

August, 26th 2014: Andrea Franco publically defends his thesis “Monolithic Particle Detectors based on Hydrogenated Amorphous Silicon”. Bravo Dr. Franco!

Wednesday 26th March 2014: A. Fejfar (IoP ASCR Prague) will talk about Microscopic experiments with radial junction solar cells based on silicon nanowires at 10.00 at MC B1 303

Wednesday 26th February 2014: Prof. J.T. Pinho (GEDAE coordinator) will talk about PV in Brazil from 3 to 3.45 pm at MC B1 303
