Bachelor, masters and PhD courses
This course is intended to give to the participants (graduates, researchers and industrial professionals) a solid background in tribology and surface interactions. It covers the fundamentals concepts of tribology including surfaces, contact mechanics, friction, lubrication and wear.
Teachers: Mischler Stefano, Igual Muñoz Anna Neus, Various lecturers , Molinari Jean-François
Language: english
The course offers the opportunity to gain practical experience in the characterization of fiber reinforced polymer and manufacturing/production methods for composite structures. The material is presented by lectures and visits to the laboratory. This is mainly a project based - hands on course
Teachers: Molinari Jean-François, Vassilopoulos Anastasios

This class addresses Continuum Mechanics, which is fundamental component of the civil engineering curriculum. It covers the concepts of deformation, stress, general principles, equilibrium equations, and constitutive laws.
Teachers: Molinari Jean-François
Language: french
This course covers the fundamentals of continuum mechanics theory at the level of the graduate level and provide modern examples of applications in mechanics of fluids, solids and structures. It is adequate for students with a background in civil engineering, mechanical or material
Teachers: Molinari Jean-François, Lecampion Brice Tanguy Alphonse

The principles of fracture mechanics, from the energy balance approach of Griffith through modern computational approaches, will be introduced using key papers. Phase-field modeling and atomistic processes in fracture, as well as experimental developments, will complement theory.
Teachers: Molinari Jean-François, Kolinski John Martin, Garagash Dmitriy, Lecampion Brice Tanguy Alphonse

Solids and structures numerical modeling is addressed through the finite-element method. Purely analytic aspects are first presented, before describing numerical interpolation, integration and resolution of solid mechanics problems by using various finite element types.
Teachers: Anciaux Guillaume, Molinari Jean-François

Learn the concepts, tools and API's that are needed to debug, test, optimize and parallelize a scientific application on a cluster from an existing code or from scratch. Both OpenMP (shared memory) and MPI (distributed memory) paradigms are presented and experimented.
Teachers: Richart Nicolas, Lanti Emmanuel
Language: english
The aim of this course is to provide the background in scientific computing. The class includes a brief introduction to basic programming in c++, it then focus on object oriented programming and c++ specific programming techniques.
Teachers: Anciaux Guillaume
