Published this February, Dr. Zekang Zhou’s Nature Physics article reports supermoiré lattice realized in twisted trilayer graphene with broken mirror symmetry, and symmetry-broken phases within supermoiré mini flat band, as well as robust superconductivity intertwining with insulators, with details featured in Phys.org.
Zekang’s work highlights that apart from the potential to limit existing possible mechanisms in original moiré flat bands, supermoiré lattice could be utilized to unlock new quantum phases as an additional degree of experimental freedom. Congratulations to Zekang and all coauthors on this accomplishment!
